1. Risk Strategy & Governance -Develop and execute the global merchant risk strategy aligned with business growth objectives -Define risk appetite frameworks, policies, and escalation protocols for merchant onboarding and monitoring
2. Merchant Lifecycle Risk Management -Oversee merchant underwriting, credit risk assessment, and portfolio management across all segments -Design and implement fraud detection and prevention strategies for high-risk merchants
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration -Work closely with Compliance, Legal, and Finance to ensure regulatory adherence (AML/KYC, card scheme rules) -Enable sales and commercial teams to balance risk control with business growth
4. Team Leadership -Foster a collaborative, AI-driven risk culture with clear performance metrics -Coach and develop risk talent across multiple time zones and markets

-8+ years of progressive experience in payment risk, merchant credit risk, or fraud management at an Acquiring Insitituion, fintech or financial institution -Deep expertise in card scheme rules (Visa/Mastercard), chargeback management, and underwriting frameworks -Experience building and scaling risk teams in high-growth environments -Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills in English Preferred -Knowledge of APAC, EMEA, North American, Latin payment ecosystems and regulatory environments -Strong analytical skills with proficiency in SQL, data visualization, and statistical analysis
