岗位职责
We seek to hire a legal counsel of commercial legal who will be a key member of the growing legal team supporting AliExpress in global emerging markets. The attorney will be based in our Hangzhou office. Job Description
- Reporting to Legal Counsel, AliExpress, advise on legal aspects of the platform’s international growth of current and new e-commerce businesses, with a focus on global emerging markets.
- Provide advice on platform compliance, local and cross border logistics, customs and tariffs, personal data, product listing and other compliance matters.
- Research local laws and regulations in the local jurisdictions and manage external counsel.
- Provide advice to business teams on legal aspects of the implementation of commercial agreements, business models and strategies, business operations, supply chain operations and product offerings.
- Negotiate, draft, and review contracts, commercial agreements and policies.
- Address and respond to requests from overseas law enforcement agencies.
- Develop in-house legal tools and policies, and conduct trainings to business units.
职位要求
- At least 5 continuous years of practice as a qualified lawyer. Current legal license (bar qualification) to practice in China and/or the US, England and Wales or Hong Kong;
- In-house legal experience at a leading e-commerce platform or multinational corporation preferred, with a solid understanding of e-commerce business models and key compliance challenges, and/or cross-border trade transactions (such as import/export, logistics, payments, financing, etc.);
- Direct experience handling regulatory investigations, inquiries, or enforcement proceedings initiated by overseas authorities preferred;
- Chinese and English language proficiency is essential;
- Highly responsible, independent, high integrity and team-oriented, with sound judgment and a proactive approach to risk management;
- Ability to work with different locations across time-zones;
- Sincere interest in technology, innovation and business. Strong commercial sense with solid foundation in legal training;
- Open to international travel as may be necessary.
