POS Device Operations Intern

Device Setup & Configuration (40%) Support end-to-end POS device preparation, assisting with unboxing, initial setup, and quality control testing. Configure device settings according to merchant specifications and brand requirements, and perform pre-deployment testing to verify full functionality before rollout. Maintain accurate documentation of device serial numbers, configurations, and merchant assignments, and provide first-line support for device troubleshooting and basic technical issue resolution. Inventory Tracking & Management (30%) Own the accuracy of POS inventory records across the full device lifecycle — received, deployed, and returned — keeping tracking systems continuously updated with device status, location, and merchant assignments. Monitor device distribution across SA, KA, and SMB merchant segments and generate daily and weekly inventory reports and status updates. Assist with warehouse organization and device storage management, and track free device allocation (5,000 units) across merchant tiers. Distribution Support (20%) Coordinate with distribution partners (Clickster, Urban Piper, Castle IT) to manage device deliveries, and support centralized delivery scheduling for SA/KA hub locations. Assist with packaging and shipment preparation, track delivery confirmations and merchant receipt acknowledgments, and support returns processing and device refurbishment coordination. Maintain delivery schedules and merchant communication logs to ensure end-to-end visibility. Administrative & Reporting (10%) Prepare daily operational reports on device deployment progress and maintain the merchant database with device assignments and contract details. Support contract documentation and merchant agreement processing, assist in the preparation and distribution of training materials, and create and update standard operating procedures. Provide support for ad-hoc projects and continuous operational improvements. Operational Excellence: The internship offers hands-on exposure to end-to-end device lifecycle management in a high-volume environment, along with inventory management best practices and tracking systems. Interns will also gain experience with quality control processes and testing methodologies, learning how devices are validated before deployment at scale. Business Operations: Interns will develop an understanding of merchant relationship management and customer service principles, working alongside distribution partnerships and vendor management activities. The role provides direct insight into retail technology implementation and support processes in a live commercial environment. Technology & Systems: The position builds practical skills in POS system configuration and troubleshooting, database management, and reporting tools. Interns will also gain familiarity with logistics and supply chain operations as they relate to large-scale device distribution. Professional Development: Beyond core responsibilities, the internship fosters cross-functional collaboration with sales, operations, and technology teams, while introducing project management and process improvement methodologies. Interns will learn customer-focused service delivery in a B2B environment, building a foundation for careers in operations, technology, or business management.

Education & Experience: Candidates should be currently pursuing or have recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, IT, Engineering, or a related field. Previous internship experience in operations, logistics, or technology is preferred, as is a basic understanding of retail technology or POS systems. Technical Skills: The role requires proficiency in data management tools and reporting, along with a basic understanding of inventory management systems. Candidates should be comfortable with technology setup and troubleshooting. Experience with database management or CRM systems is preferred, and familiarity with tracking and logistics systems is a plus. Soft Skills:Strong attention to detail is critical for accurate inventory tracking and device configuration, alongside solid organization skills to manage multiple tasks with systematic approaches. Clear verbal and written communication in English is essential (Arabic is a plus), as is a proactive, problem-solving approach to identifying and resolving operational issues. The role also demands effective time management to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to collaborate well with cross-functional teams and external partners.
