Role Summary & Expectations The Business Development Manager – Commercial District Expansion will drive Alipay+ merchant acceptance and brand visibility across high-potential commercial districts, retail clusters, and key tourist destinations in Thailand. As an individual contributor, the role will own district expansion end-to-end—from identifying high-potential areas and engaging property stakeholders to negotiating district-wide partnerships, co-branding opportunities, and merchant expansion. We are looking for a proactive, commercially driven deal-maker who is equally comfortable building partnerships and conducting on-ground scouting to uncover new opportunities. Key Responsibilities ● Commercial District & Landlord Partnerships: Identify, assess, and prioritize high-potential commercial areas, retail clusters, shopping malls, and local markets; negotiate district-wide access, joint promotional campaigns, and media space with property developers, mall leasing management, and market operators. ● Strategic Merchant Acquisition & Co-branding: Pitch and close co-branding, acceptance, and tactical promotional campaigns with key anchor merchants, prominent retail brands, and high-foot-traffic F&B outlets within target districts. ● On-Ground Scouting & Gap Analysis: Conduct regular field visits to evaluate tourist density, commercial viability, and competitor presence; identify coverage gaps and spot new expansion opportunities across Greater Bangkok and major tourist corridors. ● Execution Alignment: Coordinate closely with internal deployment teams and agency partners to ensure agreed district terms, POSM placements, and merchant readiness are implemented smoothly according to the partnership scope. ● Campaign & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Marketing and Product teams to design localized promotions, user subsidies, and in-app exposure tailored to specific commercial zones and partner ecosystems. ● Performance Tracking: Monitor transaction trends, district-level adoption, and campaign participation to evaluate partnership effectiveness and guide future expansion decisions.

● Experience: 4-7+ years of commercial experience in Business Development, Key Account Management, Retail Leasing, Property Partnership, or Field Sales within Commercial Real Estate, Retail, FMCG, Tech, or Payments. ● Negotiation & Deal-Closing: Strong track record in pitching, negotiating, and closing commercial agreements with property owners, asset managers, mall leasing committees, retail operators, or local market organizers. ● Territory Scouting & Commercial Sense: Keen eye for identifying high-traffic commercial catchment areas and translating foot-traffic potential into viable commercial partnerships. ● Basic Payment & Retail Tech Understanding: Fundamental understanding of QR payment flows, point-of-sale setups, and digital wallet acceptance from a commercial/retailer perspective. ● Collaboration & Execution Drive: Strong self-management as an individual contributor, with the interpersonal skill to align work smoothly with internal marketing and ground-execution teams. ● Communication & Languages: Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills in Thai and English; proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage. ● Hands-on & Agile: High initiative, field-ready attitude, and ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced commercial environment.
