As Lead Technical Writer at KOMOJU you will be responsible for creating and maintaining clear, comprehensive, and user-friendly documentation for our products and services. You will own the KOMOJU documentation center, transforming complex technical concepts into accessible content that helps developers, merchants, and internal teams successfully integrate and use our payment processing platform. Working closely with engineering, product, and customer success teams, you’ll ensure our documentation accurately reflects product capabilities, best practices, and real-world use cases. You’ll need a deep understanding of APIs, SDKs, and technical integrations so you can write with authority and test documentation against live systems using tools like Postman. You’ll be a strategic partner who understands market needs, spots documentation gaps, and proactively creates content that reduces support tickets and improves customer experience. You’ll also help shape our documentation strategy and establish content standards as we scale our technical content. Responsibilities ● Own and maintain the KOMOJU documentation center, keeping all content accurate, up-to-date, and comprehensive ● Write and update API references, integration guides, SDK documentation, tutorials, FAQs, and troubleshooting resources ● Document integrations for e-commerce platforms like Wix, WooCommerce, and Shopify ● Test API endpoints and integrations using Postman, cURL, or Swagger to verify documentation accuracy ● Create code samples, working examples, diagrams, flowcharts, and screen captures that simplify complex concepts ● Work with engineering, product, and customer success teams to document new features and identify gaps based on customer feedback ● Structure and organize documentation so both technical and non-technical readers can easily find and understand what they need ● Set up documentation standards, style guides, and templates to keep everything consistent ● Research market trends, competitor documentation, and payment industry best practices to benchmark our content experience and inform strategic documentation improvements

● Exceptional English writing skills. You can explain complex technical concepts in plain language using clear, simple sentences from a third-person, objective perspective ● Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and web services, with hands-on experience using API testing tools like Postman, Swagger, or cURL ● Working knowledge of at least one programming language (JavaScript, Python, Ruby, PHP, etc.) and the ability to read and understand code ● Experience writing technical documentation for developer audiences. This could be API documentation, integration guides, SDK references, or similar content ● Comfortable creating visual communications like diagrams, flowcharts, and annotated screenshots ● Familiar with software development workflows, version control (Git), and documentation tools like Markdown and content management systems ● Strong research skills and ability to quickly learn new technologies, complex systems, and industry standards ● Self-motivated with excellent project management and organizational skills. You can work independently and juggle multiple documentation projects with minimal supervision ● Meticulous attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and consistency ● Portfolio of technical writing samples that showcase your work Nice to Haves (These aren’t required, but be sure to mention them in your application if you have them.) ● Business-level spoken and written Japanese ● Knowledge of the payments industry, payment gateways, or fintech products ● Familiarity with Wix, WooCommerce, Shopify, or similar e-commerce platforms ● Experience with documentation platforms and static site generators ● Experience using JIRA for project management and issue tracking ● Background in software engineering, computer science, technical communication, or journalism ● Experience creating video tutorials or interactive documentation ● Understanding of developer experience (DevEx) principles, SEO best practices, or accessibility standards
